Can't Seek

MessageAuthor

Okay, I had downloaded an anime dvd iso that someone put in subs to but the subs the person put in were crap. So, I decided to shove in my own. Here's how I did it: 1. Rip files with dvd decrypter to harddrive 2. Open the vob file corresponding to the largest ifo file in vobedit and demuxed the streams. 3. Made a new dvd with ifoedit adding all the streams and crap. 4. Copied the new vob files over the original ones. Haven't done anything to the subs because I want to get this working first. If I open the files in WinDVD, the menus work and all that. The only thing is is that I can't seek through the video when on the original I was able to... Also, the menu seems to crap out and not work properly when I try to play it in Media Player Classic. Anyone know what I did wrong, or need to change, etc? I can upload the ifo files if needbe...

RE: Can't Seek

You've been a member for almost two years and this is your first post? I would have hoped in that time you would have done some reading to get an understanding of how DVDs work, how to do some things like replace subs, and the forum rule concerning downloading. You cannot simply replace one set of vob files with another and expect things to work, all the files are interconnected. A Get VTS Sectors might help.

RE: Can't Seek

I would expect that a mock strip might help get you a little further along the road. Apart from that, WMP is notoriously bad at playing DVDs even though MS was cheeky enough to associate it with the DVD files. Use PowerDVD, WinDVD or Nero Showtime instead as a software player. Note: Playing OK in a SW player is absolutely no guarantee of a playable disk in your standalone. In any event, you are not backing up an original, so I really think mpucoder should have closed the thread on you. Regards

I never said I used WMP. I said I used WinDVD and MPC. And what do you mean by "mock strip"? Ugg, all I want is to change the damn subs on this dumb thing.

Yes, it is the policy to close threads about downloaded movies. I hoped a warning would result in the post being reworded. It's too late for that now.
