BFD troubles.....help please

MessageAuthor

I have an old template from the forum for BFD 1.5 - Better Sized BFD template.RTrackTemplate, found here, . I am using BFD 1.5 and Reaper 2.58. I trigger from an Alesis Q7. No matter how I mess with it I get all of the drums going into wet mix, dry buss and each drum track. So basically the dry buss, wet mix, and kick record all of the drum sounds. I used to know the steps but it has been so long I am completely lost. How can I seperate the kick, snare, hats, toms, and cymbals to their own tracks.....in a simple format? Thank you!

HI Sam C i'll try to help. I'm on BFD 2. Are you using the 32 out capability in Reaper to assign the different channels in BFD to separate channels in Reaper?

thanks henge! i am not sure, i am using the template i included in the post. however, all drums record to master, dry mix, and kick. so, if you are willing to go from scratch that is good for me. i want my kick, snare, hats, toms, cymbals on their own midi track. thanks!

I'm a little confused. Do you mean that you want separate MIDI tracks or separate audio tracks? If the latter, then insert the plugin, then in the fx window dropdown select "build multi-out". If the former, then you just keep creating tracks, but send the outs of each one to the track the plug is on.

Do you have the correct output assignments in BFD. In other words which outputs are your BFD MIXER channels assigned to?
