another, often more detailed method is with envelopes.... it can be more 'detailed' as you can either have the changes very abrupt or gradual to whatever degree you wish... this is done by chooing the shape of the points on the volume envelope. You can look this up in the user's guide as well. There are two types of Vol. envelopes... one is called Pre FX If you use that you will actually see the wav form change shape with your env. adjustments. To get you started.... on the Track panel, clk the env. button near the fx button... in the next dialog check Vol or Vol Pre fx and also check the visible box... If you want abrupt changes use a square shape for the points... if you want gradual, try the linear shape... If you like, you can make a time selection of the part of the wav you want to change volume for, and then just move the slider on the vol. env. panel... in this way it will increase or decrease the vol. for just the part in the time selection. If you screw up at first, just delete [clear] that envelope lane and start again from fresh... I like envelopes as they involve no spliting of the wav file.
