Plastic clips for estate rear side window trim?

Advertising

MessageAuthor

At the bottom of the rear side windows of 7 and 9 series estates is a trim with a rubber bit next to the window and a metal bit (chrome on 765s, black on 745s). It is held on by little plastic clips that lodge in the inside of the metal strip to hold the trim on. The little plastic clips are of two different types. Both seem in turn to lodge onto a mushroom-headed little metal dum (about an eighth of an inch diameter) probably soldered or brazed (but I can't see 'cos the paintowrk in in good order there) into the bodywork. Anyone know where I can get those little plastic bits?

Would this give the effect of the rubber strip sticking up at one end on the window?

blow round all that!....I got a tube of black silicon sealer....ran it all the way along where the rubber was coming away (and sticking up when in motion) then ran a strip of masking tape over it to hold it in place while it cured....voila! little bit of tidying up with a craft knife the next day...as good as new
