Topics are marked as 'Read'

Hi guys, most days now the recently updated threads in the General Discussion page show all threads as having been read (not in bold)despite not having logged in that day. However recently updated threads from all other pages will show the threads as not having been read (still in bold) Not a biggie, but in General Discussion i have to look at dates to see if posts have been added today, and then also remember which ones i have read as i go through them. Any ideas?

I guess you've changed the browser or changed cookie settings. If your browser doesn't keep the forum cookie when you close the forum page it can't remember anything from the last session.

Thanks, haven't changed the browser, not sure about cookie settings...strange though that it only happens sometimes in General Discussion, and not the rest..

So i got a brand new PC ( not to replace my recording PC, but just to use for other stuff and internet) and guess what - each day when i log in, all threads updated that day in General Discussion are all marked as read. But all other discussion forums in reaper show threads in bold that aren't read! Odd...

Your PC is simply trying to tell you in a very tactful and discreet manner that you need not spend your life with your face in a computer screen. If the posts are marked as read, then the goal is to get your ass out of the chair, go outside, get some air, read a newspaper, take a walk, pet a dog, acknowledge your wife, talk to a friend vocally as opposed to textually. What kind of PC did you buy? It sounds like something I would benefit from. In fact, I'm feeling a tinge of jealousy!

Mine does this occassionally, it has been happening for a while now. Haven't changed any browser settings. I thought it was just me. :D :cool:

I have the opposite problem, sometimes when I click new posts everything is in bold, even if I'm the last poster. :D
