big problem or not

MessageAuthor

Bought some 10K de-coke today as had good results from it before. Now the problem is I followed destructions and sprayed it in after the maf and before the turbo, now I have moved the car there is most of the contents from the can on the floor, can't see where it has come from or how it has got there. What possible probs might I have, and where should I start looking, I will be very grateful for any info. Thank you Chris

sorry, may not be getting this correctly. you sprayed this stuff and rather then go through the engine it's on the floor? is that right? if it is check the pipe that goes from the maf to the turbo. near the bottom it's got pipes for the pcv connected to it. these could be dislodged and if so, would be a cause of a boost leak as well. if not, ignore me lol

not so much that it has holes in it but the connection with the pcv pipes can be dodgy if disturbed. after faffing about with it for a while i pulled the whole thing out as much as possible, connected those pipes and then some sealant and then chucked it back in. not saying this is your problem but definetly worth checking.

The place where the product was on the floor was in this area ie back of engine, on mine the pcv pipe work is just pushed on not sure if this is the way they are ment to be? the vac hoses I've had off are all ju-clipped up. I will double check all these, the only other new thing in that area is the forge re-circ blanking plate, are these known for not sealing proply? and if so what product should I use to seal it. Plus its not the best place to work on bit cramped lol

RE: big problem or not

i think the pcv pipe is supposed to be pushed on but if you were for example to take it off, it would be very hard to push it back in where it is as iirc there's an O' ring. bit of a pain. there's i think, two other pipes there as well, check them. tbh the pipe i'm talking about may be for the egr or something and the two smaller pipes the pcv but as long as you understand then it's all good. i know when i fitted my forge blanking plate i did seal it with some instant gasket.

update I've taken blanking plate off and gasket sealed it, checked all pipes and pcv all these are fine and in place, can't see any physical signs of where it has come from, what else should I have a look at?
