detect tempo

MessageAuthor

Hi. Is it possible to detect the song's tempos with a trick plz, as cubase does, for example. We indicate the first beat, then the fifth (for a 4/4 measure) and it gives the bpm. Thankx ahead.

similar in Reaper: make a time selection of exactly one bar (grid off of course), put your mouse cursor over the loop length indicator, then a tooltip pops up indicating the tempo

RE: detect tempo

Use the action "Create measure from time selection (new time signature)". You type in how many beats the selection is and Reaper will calculate the tempo and insert the tempo marker for you.

RE: detect tempo

if you have a percussion loop (or some audio part you can make an accurate loop out of it), make a selection with the grid off, then it will tell you approximately what tempo it is set the master tempo to the shown tempo (if it's 100.4, put 100) then set the rate of all files to 1
