Megababies: any way to copy paste or move notes?

MessageAuthor

Hello, I am giving megababy a new try (I had given up some time ago) as I program beats with Reaper. I am having a hard time with it, as I still did not find how do do the simplest operations such as copy paste a note or move a note. This is needed as I am experimenting with different sounds, so I very often move notes from one "row" to the other in the midi editor. I wish I could do the same with megababy, but I did not find how. Also, I find very confusing that if you have already drawn some notes, and move the visible part of the piano roll... everything is transposed, there is no way to scroll up or down, this drove me totally nuts last time I used it. I have the feeling it could be an awesome tool, but I don't know how to scroll up or down (I found I can zoom out or in,but cannot scroll..), or to move/copy notes... I guess I should try to learn js code and code this myself, but I am sure someone has already done that! I check the "nm" version, there is a "Move" button that move things, but it moves all the pattern, I don't know how to select only one note and move it. But despite these, kudos to the creator of this tool!

As far as I know, you can't do any of those things with Megababy. I still love it though.

I think it's just a totally different headspace and once you get into it, it's awesome. I tried megababy nm and at first I felt like you. Even the second time around, I used it but eventually copied everything to midi and then finished from there. But third time around I've learned (from Quick Guide and Video at Reaper Blog) some tricks that make it easier. One thing I really like is how you can change note position a little to humanize, add your own swing, etc. Also, you can copy a whole pattern into a blank pattern, and then change it around there. Not quite what you were asking, but really, I am diggin' this! You might want to copy the Quick Guide into a simple text file to make searching easier. ***** /* Quick Guide If you want drum maps for Battery 3 or Battery 4, they are included here: - Right click/drag: Audition existing note or empty location.
