I am not sure where to post a question like this, but I am sure others have had same problem, so here goes, How can I protect my shiny silver cdr from getting scratched? I have noticed that all the cdr media I have bought that is unlabeled, such as the Taiyo Yuden I have now, can be very easily scratched. Once the reflective layer has a scratch, the cdr is basically useless. CDR that come with brand name or other artwork on them have some other type of layer over that is not very easily scratched. I apply a label to first cd in my vcd collection, but not 2nd for cost reasons. Is there something that can be sprayed on the disc over the layer to protect it, and wont deteriorate the disk over time, or is there a clear protective sticker available (cover disc top surface) to protect the disc. I dont want to print 2 labels for one movie. Any tried and true suggestions would be deeply appreciated. Sorry mod's if I posted in wrong pl;ace, but I was unsure where to post.

pledge, works great to restore scratched discs, ive used it for this myself and the wax coat should protect the surface of the cd-r quite nicely though i havent used it for that before. and no im not joking.

Don't put any stickers on cd-r. I've ruin a DVD drive when the sticker peeled off due to the heat and then BANG......disc exploded. Got a rpl from the job. I now use cdr pens. TDK ones I think. Edge

Yep, thats why I need to find the clear labels I suppose such as the video store uses, although I dont need them with the anti-theft. Our local store uses Protect-O-Disc which have the anti-theft. I suppose they havent had problems with ruining peoples dvd players with these labels as they have been using them here for about 2 years. I did a search for Protect-O-Disc and found nothing but dvd cases. Thats what I need though. If anyone knows where I can find these clear labels and some double dvd cases for less than 45 cents each please email me or reply here. thanks

Maybe send these guys an email ... - at least they have an applicator device for "protective film", so they should be able to get you the film as well ... for the future, it might work out cheaper to buy labelled Taiyo Yudens, though :).

I got these Taiyo yudens for about 30c each. Where can I find the labeled ones (or mitsui) for about same price.? I dont want to spend 45c or more for a cdr. Thanks
