Saving a default input/output range?

MessageAuthor

Hi, Is it possible to save a default range of inputs and outputs on each device driver? Studio One has this nifty feature, but I haven't seen this option in reaper yet. Would be nice to not have to set the range every time I switch from the ASIO4ALL driver to the Presonus StudioLive driver and vice versa.

In the preferences there is an option to "alias" the ins and outs of the current interface. It also allows you to remove unused ins and outs. As far as I know it saves it per driver, although I don't change mine that often. Is this what you mean?

What I mean is a setting for not having to click the input/output dropdown each time I switch drivers, in order to enable all inputs/outputs. Does aliasing achieve this? I thought aliasing was just a way to rename the inputs/outputs.

Oh, I see what you're saying. I only use two outputs. The aliasing does allow you to edit which ins and outs show up when you're doing routing but I strictly use is for removing channels on my interface before a session/renaming inputs accordingly. I'm sorry I don't know the answer to your question!

I am on Studio One and yes it is handy to have that future. In reaper I was forced to use this workaround check post 12 It was vague info on there but I looked online and backtracked his steps and it does work. You need the SED command line tool. Not easy but it works very well.
