Deales damage wheel replacing tyres.

I have just picked up my XC90 which at the service the dealer has replaced the 4 tryes for me (and the track rod ends - see other thread). I have just checked the wheels and they have scratched one of my wheels, around the edge where it has been scored (by the fitting machine I presume.) I'm fuming:angry2:as you can imagine - I try to look after my car and I would expect Volvo to as well. That's why I didn't get a local tyre firm to change the tyres. I only noticed when, after I got home I wiped the white grease off the wheels which hadn't been removed. (ummm, I wonder why?!) My question is this: should I only expect a brand new replacement wheel? I am sure that they will try to only refubish it - but that in my eyes is not acceptable -why should they only repair it instead of replacing it? Anyway, any suggestions/feelings would be greatly appreciated. Jon

I think I would be pushing them for a replacement wheel. Explaining that I use a main dealer for quality of service and customer care etc.etc.

Always check the alloys before leaving any tyre fitting centre for such damage, as it's so easily done. I'd be surprised if they will replace it if it's just scratched, but fix it. Depends on the damage though if it's more of a gouge then sure it can still be repaired but your argument at replacement would be stronger. Vipes

if when you ask them to replace the wheel, which they wont,because their blokes dont do that sort of thing, tell,em ok i,ll go to local paper,and ask them if they,ve heard of this forum, if not tell,em, buti fear that they are taught all the excuse,s, ihope you get it sorted,don,t settle for less then what you deserve. ...............kev

Thanks for the replies. The dealers have agreed to replace the wheel and redo the recking (which was completely out). The car is in th garage today and I am picking it up tonight - we shall see if all is okay! Jon
