drum track technique question

Advertising

MessageAuthor

I'm using drum kits in Kontakt 2 to create drum tracks in PTLE. Is there a trick to simulating a two stick drum strike? I've attempted 1/32 notes on the snare to do this, but it just doesn't have the same effect as a drummer performing a two stick strike that isn't quite in unison...if that makes sense. Thanks for any advice anyway.

Yeah.. i'd use 2 "Midi Hits" on 2 different Snare "Keys" Adjust the spacing more in Samples, or Milliseconds, rather then 32/nd or 64th notes, for more of a "Flam" effect

RE: drum track technique question

Many drum sample collections have separate samples for just this purpose, as indeed, they are two totally different sounds. Not sure if the stock Kontakt samples have them, as I never use them, but I know that the original Drumkit from Hell sample collection does, as do a few others.
