Mbox 1 latency

MessageAuthor

I know next to nothing about Mac's but you should be able to set your buffer to 128 and work pretty comfortably. You'll notice horrible latency at 1024.

RE: Mbox 1 latency

I have an 002R which is FW and no problems with latency but the OP might be interested. Actually never heard of these.

RE: Mbox 1 latency

Monitoring straight off the box is fine for me - I just want to know why it seems to be laying the track down 'delayed' as well. I've used other interfaces that I couldn't monitor in real-time but they didn't have a problem getting the audio down in time. Meh, I'll go home this evening, have a play around and see what I can do. I don't have Pro Tools installed btw, so I don't have any issues with loading another driver.

RE: Mbox 1 latency

Thanks guys, I'll wade into the manual. I know the Mbox is old, it's kind of all I have for the moment though. The idea is to buy a focusrite FW interface sometime in the future, but only when I have the cash (I'd have to sell a guitar or two!). I figured it was latency; just wasn't sure as I've had the same delayed monitoring on other interfaces, but not the tracking issue. Should probably look up the term 'latency' at the same time as I read the manual!
