no brake lights

help My v70 d5 brake lights have gone. The only one working is the led on the tailgate. i've looked at the bulbs and they seem fine and even been to halfords to buy new ones that dont fit! any suggestions

To get the side bulbs out you will need 8 inch thing long fingers as they are a pig to get to,my wifey did it for me in about 2 mins (always marry a girl with small hands).Got mine from a local motor spares shop and have been ok for ages,have heard Halfords own bulbs don't last that long. Ben.

No spares shops like that round here. Had to get my wife through the normal process.

No break lights

I had this problem on S60, it was a fuse in the boot on the near side behind the carpet that pulls down to access the rear lights

Well, after trying to change the wrong bulbs, for ones that didnt fit (thanks Halfords!!) and checking the fuses, I ended up taking it to volvo garage and it was the brake light switch and relay that had gone. Thanks everyone for your suggestions
