How do I get my new G4 to see the Audio Media III sound inputs?

I just got the new 867 Mhz G4 and installed the Audio Media III card. I get sound out but the sound input control panel doesn't offer digidesign as an option! What can I do?

-Due to conflicts with Mac OS 9.x, the Digidesign Sound Drivers extension (which provides both input and output via Sound Manager) is not compatible. If installed, remove this from the Extensions folder. -Unfortunately, there are no plans to update the Digi Sound Drivers extension. Therefore, you can no longer input audio through the analog/digital inputs of the AMIII via Sound Manager (only output with the Digi Control Panel). Brent

do you still sell this product that you do not support ?.... i note that the am3 installter for LE 5.1.1 has this extension included.... i think that is very irresponsible... what is toolbox xp ? and is this card still in producton ? i bought my am3 card only a few months before the 001 was introduced at only 100. more than i paid for my am3..what did i know..i trusted sam ash and digi to steer me correctly..then it took a few months to learn how to use a DAW and by that time it was not supported at all...my beige mac was never supported for an 001 either. brent, i know this is not your fault...but is there a more detailed technical explaination why there is no driver support for this product that is still sold by digidesign now ? cerberus

Well, I hope the lack of AMIII drivers in Mac OS 9.x is due to digi working on Mac OS X drivers instead. I would really like to see them ready for use with Logic Audio 5 in january

Between Apple's inputless G4, aurora video systems audio inputless Fuse card, and digi's lack of sound manager drivers under os9 I would say they're all a bunch of clowns. Good thing you arent a Fuse owner.

Digibashing made me jump in... Firstly, I understand everyone's frustrations. The analog world had it's equivalent amount frustrations, but the limitations in editing and otherwise manipulating audio were MONUMENTAL compared to what can be done today with just the smallest combo of hardware and software. Secondly, Digidesign, just like you, is in business to stay in business. Compared to the many companies that I've dealt with in almost 30 years in the music business, they're pretty good, heck sometimes even wonderful... besides when's the last time a rep answsered a question on the MOTU User Conference board... right, they don't have one. Nuff said. This message won't be understood by all. But if you're one of the few that handle talent/ability responsibly and you have your eye on PROGRESS in whatever your chosen specialty... get back to work. Harness the power available, use it to express yourself, stop complaining, be gracious, offer helpful suggestions, make a difference. Remember... obstacles are just opportunities in work clothes.
