hard drive formatting question...urgent...help

i have to format two external hard drives (firewire 400) that can be read by a mac AND a PC. i think i have to format it as MS-DOS, but im not sure, and i dont have time to do it twice. any help is appreciated. P.S. any one know if there is an issue with converting a hard drives power rating for use in another country (france and new zealand)

if it is just the back-up just format it to MS-DOS mac and PC will mount the volume but that volume will not be usable by protools on the mac. but everything else will. most switching power supplies use universal input voltages but it usually says the voltage range. on the external supply or on the back

thanks for the help so far, but i have another question.im putting a session (from a mac) on a drive that is going to be transferred to a PC. so as long as they (the pc) dont try to record on that volume and just transfer the data onto one of their drives, it should work right? basically im just trying to get out of having to burn two sets of dvds (8-9 dvds per set)

Make sure they don't use sd2 as the file type.. otherwise it should work. Rail
