Reason RDK 2.0 to Pro Tools?

MessageAuthor

I'm using Reason and the RDK 2.0 Refill to program my drums. I like it a lot. However, now it's time to get it to Pro Tools. What's the best pratice to do this? I'm open to suggestions. I wasn't sure if I should mix in Reason first or get each drum to it's own track in PT. If so, how do I do this?

i've used both methods, both ways work. though, getting individual tracks into protools allows you to use your plugins on each drum track

I would rewire it into protools Just put reason on a stereo instrument track in protools Or try this open up protools first then reason. create an nnxt but hold down shift as you create it so it doesnt automatically connect to the reason mixer. Then hit tab and connect the outs of each nnxt channel directly to the reason hardware interface in puts. You have 64 to play with . Now in protools creat like 8 mono instrument tracks . Put reason on each track and select the apropriate reason output starting at like 1 Now each part of your drum kit can be on its own track in protools and have its own rtas effect in real time. Or heck just bounce a stereo mix out of reason and import into protools. The above way gives you way more realtime control. drop me an email anytime as I am in mich also and am a protools addict! I am in grand haven. hope it works for you Line 6 has some demos of there new interfaces and on the audio demos they are using rdk and it sounds fantastic!
