hi we are having trouble recording with reaper, First - when we use metronome it gets recorded right onto the track along with the music which we dont want to happen, we want to hear the metronome but we dont want it permanently recorded over top our music track. Second - when we try to record a second track the previously recorded track gets recorded onto the newest recorded too. SO the old track material ends up mixed in with the new material on the newest track ... In fact if you try to record more tracks say 3 or 4 more then all the previous tracks get recorded as well onto the newest track ???? we are recording guitar through a stereo effects pedal into a cheap mixer which goes out into the computer through the "Stereo" Audio Input Jack on the back of the PC, we use Mother Boards built in Sound Card - ASUS P4P 800 ....(I think its was 800, i dont have it here with me) I think the mother board has a built in thing that controls the audio called REALTEK AC97 audio driver or something like that ...(sorry if im vague on specifics here). I think (just guessing) that it may be the set up, im not sure which input we are supposed to use for recording through the PC's Audio input jack, so maybe I am using the wrong input thing " WDM Kernel Streaming, Direct Sound, wave out, ASIO, Dummy ,,, and or maybe we had the right one picked at one point but maybe we had the settings messed up ? BTW I know that asio is not the one, that one i know is for USB hook ups.,,, Again the metronome is getting recorded when it on, and the previous tracks get bounced or recorded onto the newest tracks being recorded which is not what we want. anyone have an idea what settings or what we have to do to fix this so we can record into the audio input jack of his PC ? thank you . EDIT NOTE - sorry the REALTEK driver thing was actually called REALTEK AC97 and not what every i previously incorrectly called it.. .
