Score View for Reaper as Plugin

From the readme: The plug-in prepares the MIDI data from REAPER's items as an in-memory MIDI file and sends it over to MuseScore. MuseScore's MIDI import feature is used to convert the data into an internal representation that is displayed. Since there doesn't seem to be a simple way for a REAPER plug-in to find out what part of REAPER's data has changed (or even just when that has happened) the plug-in periodically (once a second) prepares the MIDI data and compares them to the data previously sent to MuseScore. If something changed in the meantime, the whole data are sent. Necessity is the mother of invention.

RE: Score View for Reaper as Plugin

Hello! I've done the install but don't see any evidence of new options in any of the context menus or the action list? This is on Alpha 4, the most recent 50a version. I tried it in both my regular full installation with a custom theme and some custom menus, and in a default, unmodified portable installation. The only thing I can think of is that I'm running the 64 bit version, and maybe this plugin only works on the 32 bit version? Thanks, Hartley

RE: Score View for Reaper as Plugin

Yes, I did a portable install of the 32 bit V4 alpha 50, and it shows up in the menus, and I opened a midi file to display the score with no problem. I would be very interested to help in the further development of this. Now that Muse Score is more stable, it's hopefully outgrown the concerns we had earlier when we tried it with Reaper. Have you thought about setting it up as a formal open source project? Since you're already distributing the source, it seems like this would be a good option. Maybe it could be set up on Sourceforge or Google or a fork of the Muse Score project or the Reaper wiki, whatever. This assumes that nothing is going to be announced for V4 from Cockos itself, which we've been waiting to be sure about. I guess at this point in the cycle, it's increasingly unlikely. But I still haven't seen any formal communication about it one way or the other. Thanks very much for the great work on this, Hartley
