Starting Reaper without a New Session

I don't get it. What do you have to do to start Reaper and have it just sit there until you load a session or request a new session be created? For some strange reason (if "load last session" isn't selected in preferences) it insists in coming up in a new session which you then have to cancel out of (two cancel events). Shouldn't it only do this if the "-new" argument is made when reaper.exe is executed? With no arguments it behaves as if "-new" was the argument. Am I missing something incredibly obvious? -------- It would also be really nice if Reaper had a notion of a sessions 'home' directory. I don't see any point in it coming up in its Program Files or Color Themes or some other unrelated to sessions directory at first run. Is there a reason? --Bill

What bblue is expecting is that Reaper should open but not create a new project or open a project until he tells it to. Basically, no arrange window or mixer or anything should even be created unless there is currently an open project. You would basically have a big grey window on screen with nothing inside of it, other than the menus at the top of the window so you could go "File>New" or "File>Open". This is how a lot of other software works, it doesn't create a new session or project or picture or whatever it is until you tell it to, it just opens idle doing nothing until you tell it to either open an existing project or create a new project.

Agreed I was just trying to clear up what seemed like miscommunication to me ;)
