I migrated the brute force way -- re-installed everything, and would you believe my rig never crashes, and is unbelieveably solid? You get back what you put into it. Try to cheat it, and you may get burned. With that said, use Apple's migration assistant (or setup assisten, or whatever they're calling it this month) to move your data. Backup your plugins folder just in case. Don't worry about disk auths, you're going to have to get new ones for everything. So just accept that once every 2 years or so, you have to dance the dance. Move as many plugs to iLok as you can, so this is no longer an issue. Apple's tool will definitely move your user directory, applications, and lots of your prefs... BUT -- don't even bother with protools... do a clean uninstall, then a complete re-install. This is the only way to be certain you have what you need. This is one place where you do not want to skimp... take your time, start fresh, and take advantage of the new car smell.
