Use 3rd party drum sample with Jamstix

MessageAuthor

Hi, New to Reaper and trying lots of stuff. I am using Jamstix and getting my head around it. What I would now like to try is using drums samples from BFD, Studio Instruments or any other drum VST inside Jamstix instead of the Jamstix libraries but still use the power of JS. I have found lots of posts referring to it and bits and pieces referring to drums maps and routing outputs from one to the other but nothing that clearly outlines step by step just how to set it up and make it work. Can anyone provide a link to such a guide or provide said steps. Much appreciated in advance. Billy

Hello BillyGareth and welcome to these forums. You'll find many helpful people here and a lot of useful information. Simplest way: -- insert Jamstix onto a track -- insert BFD onto the same track (it will go after Jamstix) -- in Jamstix kit, load a BFD kit -- in Jamstix Mixer, select "MIDI only" There's a lot more that can be done but this should get you started. Note that all the drum audio will be on a single track. More later.

Thanks DarkStar, Good info to start with. Also got an informative reply from Ralph at Rayzoon so should be good to have a play now. Cheers, Billy
