An attempt at a Rock ballad, mix seems okay to me in that everything can be heard, feel free to poke fun at it though. I still haven't evened the panning so once again it's very L and R guitar/keyb but figured the individual insts can be heard more isolated afa mix suggestions etc. _________________________________ Version #2, slightly bumped vol on voc [and bking voc in one section] Eq'd slight LF cut/HF boost on vocs Eq'd slight LF cut on snare Eq'd Kik for a bit more separation from bass gtr __________________________________ Version #3, bumped up bass gtr vol
hey Morgon - enjoyed this! i got a retro-80s kinda vibe.. Pink Floyd? good separation on the mix, but you could probably boost the vox some - push it a little more out front. Found myself leaning in a few times. loved the solos!
Thanks Mark, I'll tweak the vocal up a bit. Already knowing the words prolly psyched myself out a bit there. And yeah prolly some early whimsical Floyd influence, count me as one who likes pretty much every guitar style and any music done well. I gotta admit your sophisticated brand of techno power rock impresses me tremendously. If I can work up some real ambition I might try for some tracks along those lines sometime. You got the sound refined too, crunch and clarity, great stuff. Cheers and thanks for listening.
For one the mix isn't overcrowded, so you've got a very good arrangement. Just the right amount of "things" happening at one time. I don't feel your voice needs to be raised as much as it could use clarity. Maybe remove/lighten some of the fx? The lead reminded me of Queen. If you had a harmony with it, I'd swear Brian May made an appearance.
Thanks Sammy, there's two eq's and a comp on the voc buss and a send to an IR track for verb. Would you say it's an eq matter? or verb? Or both? Cheers
In that case, I'd say eq. Sounds like a hair more of the lows could come out. Or maybe take some lows from the verb. I'm listening again, and maybe a little of the same on the drums (snare).

Version #3 posted, bumped the bass gtr up a bit. I won't repost again but I'll still tweak it if something is suggested that really needs doing, prolly a bit of sibilance in a couple of spots Couple of other minor audio edits to do inc fadeout Cheers, thanks for the help guys, did improve it significantly.
