ReaDelay musical length question

MessageAuthor

HIhoo :-) Never really used Readelay until now... and I have question. I read the ReaFX pdf and I can't get my head around the musical length adjustments in 5.21. Moving the slider (in musical length) gives decimal values (4.00 , 3.99- , 4.01+), while the 1/8th note remains unchanged . What do I miss here and how can I change, and see, the musical values (1/2, 1/4, 1/8, dotted & triplet ... etc) ? 3.87 isn't..."musical", imho ;) Lol . Thankies Remco Z

RE: ReaDelay musical length question

Yep it does. Thanks :) . Viewed a lot of Kennymania's stuff already ... somehow missed the 2 delay-tut's. P**p in my eyes :D Ok, watched part 2 and got it. Still ... Graphical/viewing-wise , the1/8th note base with the 1-2-3 etc... multiplier/divider ...while the slider adds decimals, is beyond my comprehension of "intuitive". So , according to the tuto, keypad entering 1= 1/8 note . 2=1/4 note . 3=1/4 dotted . I suppose so 4=1/2 note ...right? ^^ Triplets ? 1/16th dotted ? Do these then need decimal values entries (like 2.5 ... or 3.33 ? ) ReaFXGuide doesn't hint on that... nor does Kenny's tuto . Is there a list of those values? Looks like this could be a FR (if not requested already)... just display musical length like... any other delay out there. :)

RE: ReaDelay musical length question

Back in my day we had to actually calculate the time in ms uphill both ways in the snow. You whippersnappers today want everything on a silver platter! For most things, the approximations for the triplets should work fine, but for verrrrrrry slooooow tempos, and/or a very lot of repeats, it pretty much has to drift from the beat. In ReaDelay it's tough to get "infinite repeats" without oscillation or uncontrollable volume escalation anyway, but it's maybe worth noting.
